Minerals from Other Countries (classified according to the Dana classification system)
The collection from countries across the world, which is housed in five display cases, is classified according to the Dana system (elements, sulphurs, oxides, silicates, etc.). The majority are samples used in the research carried out by the museum’s staff, a considerable number were donated, and some were purchased.
The lower half of the disply cases is occupied by large samples of various minerals and several rocks. The minerals in these display cases, together with those kept in store at the museum, are a representative collection of minerals from around the world.
